INVITATION

3 - 6 November 2015 - The Netherlands

We would like to invite you to participate in the
3rd World Conference of Women's Shelters.

Violence against women is still widespread and is perhaps the greatest crime against humanity of all time. During the conference we contribute to the elimination of this violence by learning from each other, sharing new insights and field-testing them, and reinforcing the position of women's shelters and the national and international networks around them.

After the conferences in 2008 (Edmonton, Canada) and in 2012 (Washington, USA) this 3rd World Conference will be hosted in 2015 the Hague, The Netherlands. With this conference we aim to give an impetus to a broad, new coalition to stop violence against women and children by involving partners such as political, business, and international organisations and by initiating concrete actions and projects.

INTENTION REGISTRATION

We invite you to REGISTER your INTENTION attending the conference. By doing so, we will be able to determine how many of you would like to attend. We invite you also to submit ideas for contribution to the content of the conference. In addition, we would like to get an idea how many people might need assistance in finding funding for their participation.

If you have any funds left for his year, you can already pre-pay the conference fee and/or donate for supporting other participants.

Please visit our website: www.worldshelterconference.org for more information.

We are looking forward to receiving your INTENTION REGISTRATION!

The 2014 campaign theme remains: From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Let’s Challenge Militarism and End Violence Against Women! The impact of militarism on violence against women is a critical issue for many women and children who seek support at the women's centres, shelters, transition houses and networks that created GNWS. The impact of the rape of women as a war tactic has far reaching consequences to communities.
