The Global Network of Women’s Shelters (GNWS) Foundation was established in 2014 in The Hague, The Netherlands, as the legal entity of the GNWS. Its mission is to support the Global Network of Women’s Shelters—founded in 2009 in Ottawa, Canada—and its regional networks around the world.

In 2024, we continue to grow our global initiative, Lila.help, and prepare for the 5th World Conference of Women’s Shelters. We firmly believe that by strengthening connections among women’s shelters worldwide, we are building a safer, more just world. Together, we are making change possible.
