Join Us in Calling Upon Governments to Take Action
The Global Network of Women’s Shelters wants women and children to be safe in every country of the world. At our 4th World Conference of Women’s Shelters in 2019 in Taiwan we decided to focus on the availability and accessibility of women’s helplines and crisis help in every country of the world.
Direct help is essential for victims of domestic and sexual violence. A women’s helpline is one of the most important ways of enabling victims to find help and support.
Allthough we do not have the exact numbers yet, we know that over 25% of the countries do not have women’s helplines or crisis help. We want this to change. See our The GNWS Women’s Helplines Project
We encourage communities, women’s shelters and shelter networks to adopt our plan and use it as a framework to support and demand what women and children need from your local, national and regional governments to be safe and free from violence and abuse. Feel free to use our flyer.
